Course Dates:
September 19, 2022 – June 7, 2023
Are you missing out on Bible study because of logistical issues? DISCIPLE Online, the online version of the life-changing Disciple, Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study, might be right for you. Everything can be done from home or from wherever you are as long as you have access to a computer.
All you need for the course are:
- High speed internet access
- A computer with an internal or external camera with microphone
- A study Bible and a course study manual
- An adventurous spirit and desire to study the Bible in a new way!
We will complete our daily reading and reflection on our own (about 30 a day). Another part of our work will be done individually online, for example, watching the weekly video. It is on the class Discussion Board, also available 24/7, that we will share prayer requests and support each other through prayer, discuss the weekly video, and answer a few additional questions.
Led by facilitator, Rev. Alice Ford, this study is offered for members of Northville FUMC but is open to anyone from anywhere. Participants will covenant together to study the scripture faithfully for the duration of the course (34 weeks) and participate in weekly Zoom meetings. The weekly Zoom sessions will be on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm Eastern time. The orientation meeting will be on September 14 at 6:30 pm EDT and the first week’s meeting will be held on September 21. Access to Blackboard will be given on the morning of Monday, September 19, 2022, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm EDT.
Participants will need to independently acquire the student manual after enrolling in the course: Disciple I Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study: Study Manual: Second Edition The manual is around $45 (Coupon code RISEN5 currently works for $5 off). The $30 BeADisciple fee covers the online assignments, support for the software, and access to the videos.
