This course is for those who enjoy reading the Bible but feel they are not fully understanding and getting the depth of the Scripture. It is a three-week course that will give you the skills and techniques to guide both novice and seasoned reader through the Bible while maintaining normal routines, and without taking away from the “presence of God” experience. You will be the investigator, focusing on the books you enjoy while practicing the skills and techniques you are learning. Along the way you will gain a broader perspective of Bible history and how its message has influenced the world.
Study Bible is preferred but not required.
In addition to Blackboard interactions, 3 required Zoom meetings will be held on Mondays, at 7:00 pm Central time. The meetings will be recorded.

About the Instructor
Carolyn Williams needed this course herself a few years ago. She was reading the Bible and joining study courses, but never fully understood what she was reading. Now she tries to put herself in the culture of Biblical times to understand what people were doing and how this has an impact on how we read the Bible today. Creating this course has helped her to remember the verses she has enjoyed, and now she can summarize the books to share God’s message to others. Carolyn finds great meaning in teaching others how to use Scriptures to guide themselves in modern life.
