This Lay Servant Ministry Advanced course is for clergy and laity who want to have a dialogue with Scripture, even if they’ve never before thought of the Bible as a discussion. While providing a new framework for looking at repeating themes in Scripture, it will show how the Bible is in dialogue with itself and with us, teaching us how to be in dialogue with it and with each other.
Learners are required to obtain this book: Sacred Tension by William Brown
In addition to Blackboard interactions, 2 required Zoom meetings will be held, one on Tuesday in the first week at 7pm Eastern time and one on Friday in the second week at 7pm Eastern time. The meetings will not be recorded but a required assignment will be given for those unable to attend a meeting.
This class has been approved by Discipleship Ministries as an advanced course in Lay Servant Ministries.
