This Fresh Expressions course is designed for church leaders who want to learn new skills for being the Body of Christ in the 21st century. The two-week course will explore what it means to form new faith expressions in the places where people already are, dive into the scriptural connections of the Fresh Expressions movement, and plan how to begin a Fresh Expression.
Together with the instructor, the textbook by Kenneth Carter and Audrey Warren, and congregations in Indiana, Florida, Pennsylvania, and beyond, learners will see Fresh Expressions come to life!
Learners are required to obtain this book: Fresh Expressions: A New Kind of Methodist Church for People Not in Church by Kenneth H. Carter, Jr., and Audrey Warren
In addition to Blackboard interactions, there will be two required Zooms, one on the first Tuesday of the course at 7 PM Central time and another on the second Thursday of the course at 7 PM Central time, but there will be an alternative assignment for those who cannot attend. The meeting will be recorded.
This class has been approved by Discipleship Ministries as an advanced course in Lay Servant Ministries. It provides the required 10 contact hours.
