Todd Seifert
Todd Seifert has served as the communications director for the Great Plains Conference (Kansas and Nebraska) of The United Methodist Church since 2015. In the local church, he has taught Bible studies aimed at promoting discipleship and evangelism among participants. He has facilitated the full Disciple I Bible study on multiple occasions, facilitated Disciple II, the Covenant Bible study and numerous other studies with adults and youth. He has completed coursework for The United Methodist Church’s certified lay minister program, and he is a regular contributor to an online daily devotion email within the Great Plains Conference. He also hosts a podcast titled “In Layman’s Terms” that tells stories about discipleship and shares brief reflections on scripture.
Todd worked for 20 years as a journalist, the last 14-plus years as executive editor for a Gannett (USA Today) property in St. George, Utah, where he edited two daily newspapers, a twice-weekly newspaper, monthly magazine and website. He is married to the Rev. Amy Seifert, who he met in baptism class while in middle school. They have two children — a daughter who graduated college after completing eligibility in women’s basketball and a son who is a pastoral candidate who pitches for his college baseball team. Todd’s hobbies include photography, reading, watching “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” movies, and playing with his dog, Suzy.
