The familiar Bible story of the Prodigal Son reminds us that being the parent of a prodigal is not an uncommon phenomenon and is not an indication of bad parenting. Even God, the Heavenly Father and perfect parent, has many prodigal children. In this learning/fellowship/praying course, parents of prodigals (PoP) can share what they’ve learned from the reading assignments. You also will be able to apply lessons learned to bring comfort to other parents who are estranged from their children of any age. After the two-week course, learners have the option of being part of an ongoing text-message group where everyone is encouraged to share victories and defeats and pray for one another.
Learners need to obtain these books: Praying Prodigals Home by Quin Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock and The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children by Stormie Omartian

About the Instructor
Dorothy Kropf has a Ph.D. in education with a specialization in educational technology. She also has a master’s degree in human services/counseling with a concentration in executive leadership and is currently the dean of online instruction for Life Pacific University. She has taught and designed courses since 2007. Her most important qualification for leading this course, though, is that she has personally experienced the tumultuous life of a prodigal parent. She knows only God is a perfect parent, and even He has many prodigal children. Still, believers can be victorious in this battle if they stand together, pray together, and encourage one another.
