This course explores innovative and practical ways of helping congregations develop outstanding ministry with members of our Baby Boomer Generation and beyond. It offers a rich learning experience that includes knowing more about the aging process and the developmental stages of midlife and older adulthood and how we can best shape our ministry.
This Lay Servant Ministries Advanced course format includes instructor facilitated discussions, two Zoom Meetings and worship.
In addition to blackboard, There are two (2) required Zoom meetings. These will be held on Monday July 10 from 6-8 PM Eastern time and on Friday July 21 from 6-8:00 PM Eastern time. The meetings will not be recorded.

About the Instructor
David Palmer is director of Lay Servant Ministries for the North Central District in the Florida Annual Conference, and serves on the Conference Board of Lay Servant Ministries. He is a Certified Lay Minister and liturgist, preaching in a fill-in pulpit role. He also is District Lay Delegate, Member-At-Large, to the Florida Annual Conference. His career experience includes 47 years in emergency medical and public safety services, working with aging persons as a paramedic and providing leadership with one of the largest volunteer units in Florida through the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Program. There 900+ primarily aging volunteers support community emergency preparedness, response, and communications. David also leads Bible studies, leadership training and small group mission and outreach ministries with this age group.
