Older adults dread the day when they have to turn in the car keys, acknowledge their infirmity, or leave a family home behind. They don’t want to become a burden on their children or others. All of these transitions may be happening to your parents. Right now.
No one can hide from aging—not your parents and not you — but you can plan for it. You can tackle aging as you’ve done with other challenges in your life and get through it with less fear and more hope.
You will leave this course with things to do, topics to discuss with your family, help for starting those discussions, and ways to build a supportive community for you and with your parents.
How will you honor your father and mother? Discover challenges ahead, consider strategies, and plan immediate steps. Let’s get started.
A one-hour Zoom meeting will be held each Saturday. This gives attendees the opportunity to talk with the instructor and meet each other. The time will be selected by learners during the week ahead of each.

About the Instructor
Ed Zinkiewicz believes that retirement should not get in the way of being engaged, finding purpose, or becoming joyful. When he retired from a successful career in business management and software development in 2011, he began a second career as a motivational leader, speaker, and author who encourages retirees to start that adventure for themselves.
Ed also is an aging-in-life strategist and realizes that growing older brings a new set of challenges. The next steps in this process may include giving up the car keys, putting up with people hovering about “helping,” or leaving homes and many precious memories and keepsakes behind. Ed connects adult children with their parents to build a strategy to confront the challenges of aging.
Past Learners Said…
“I feel that the course is well named, it is about honoring your parents but it is so much more. It is a reminder that aging is another stage of life that will have its challenges but those that are walking down that path should be treated with respect and dignity. I learned a lot about preparing for this stage of life that I just didn’t know. Thank you!”
“I learned that… Aging adults are often struggling with their situation. Asking lots of questions and working together to come up with solutions is beneficial.”
“I enjoyed the class, the discussion questions were well thought out and the video’s were helpful. I took a lot of notes!”
