This online course is for members of the Wichitas District of the Oklahoma United Methodist Annual Conference who are ready to explore ministry as a Lay Servant. This 5-week course will help you gain clarity about your gifts and talents and the needs of your community. Learn online while connecting with others who want to lead better without losing time from work and loved ones. Easy and doable even if you are new to online learning.
The Basic Course is a requirement towards becoming a Certified Lay Servant, but it is open to everyone. Six of the required hours will be online on your own with an additional 5 hours together through the use of Zoom Meeting software. This course is being offered online to meet needs during the COVID-19 pandemic and is provided for members of the Wichitas District Conference only.
The Zoom live meetings are required for course completion and will be held on these dates and times:
- Welcome & Orientation Session – Sunday, February 7 at 7:00 pm CST
- Session 1 – Sunday, February 14 at 7:00 pm CST
- Session 2 – Sunday, February 21 at 7:00 pm CST
- Session 3 – Sunday, February 28 at 7:00 pm CST
- Session 4 – Sunday, March 7 at 7:00 pm CST
Learners will need to order their own copy of the Lay Servant Ministries, Participant’s Book (Basic Course)
