General Blackboard Information
Blackboard is an online website that hosts all of the courses for BeADisciple.com. Think of it as a school building that you walk into, where each of your courses meet in separate rooms. The only thing you need to access Blackboard is a decent internet connection.
You don’t need to download any software to access your course on Blackboard; you will simply go to a website and log in to access your courses. The version of the Blackboard software we use is called Blackboard Learn.
There are minimum browser requirements to use Blackboard Learn. Check the link below to see if your system is compatible.

On the above page, look for this sentence “You are viewing Original Course View content.” If it says Ultra View instead, change it by clicking on the blue “Go to Original Course View page.” If you see a green check mark with SUPPORTED then you are all set. If not, follow the prompts on the page.
You may wish to download Google Chrome to use as an alternative browser if you have difficulty with your preferred browser. Google Chrome is known to work best with Blackboard.
While you don’t need to download any Blackboard software, you might find that you need to update some of the software on your own computer (such as Java, Adobe Acrobat Reader, or QuickTime) in order for the course sites to work correctly for you. These updates are free and simple to install. Email beadisciple@sckans.edu for technical assistance if something does not seem to be working correctly.
