This microcourse explores highlights of the just-completed General Conference. It will equip United Methodist congregational leaders, both lay and clergy, to answer questions about legislation that was passed and “what comes next.” Learners will hear what happened to the major “3R” legislative matters—regionalization, revised social principles, and removing non-inclusive language from the Book of Discipline—as well as discussing upcoming constitutional amendments and details concerning other important legislation their congregations should know about.
To earn .5 CEUs and a completion certificate, 4 daily Blackboard forums will be required along with one Zoom meeting, held on Monday from 6-9 pm Eastern time. The meeting will not be recorded. Learners not interested in the CEU and certificate are welcome to participate in just the Zoom session..
0.5 CEU will be awarded to those who complete the course.
