This second CLM module explores basic skills needed by the Certified Lay Minister, including leading worship, preaching and sharing faith, forming discipleship ministries, and providing congregational care.
Please note that this course requires the continuation of a Mutual Ministry Team consisting of the CLM learner, the CLM’s pastor/pastor mentor, the lay leader within the CLM’s church, the district superintendent or designee, and three to five others from the local church, which was formed as required for CLM 101, Module 1. One-on-one meetings with the CLM learner’s pastor mentor and together with the mutual ministry team members continue and are required during this second training module to meet the learning objectives.
Requirements:
- CLM Module 1. Please do not enroll in CLM Module 2 if you have not completed CLM Module 1 online or locally.
- Before participating in a BeADisciple CLM module for the first time, learners must
- enroll before 5:00pm central time on the Wednesday before the course begins
- ask their pastor/mentoring pastor AND District or Conference LSM director to email the BeADisciple registrar at beadisciple.com@sckans.edu, giving their permission for the enrollee to participate in the course.
- These official permissions must be received by the registrar before noon Central time on the Friday before the course begins or the enrollee will be withdrawn and the course fee refunded.
- Learners will need Accountable Discipleship: Living in God’s Household by Steven Manskar.
In addition to Blackboard interactions, 2 required Zoom meetings will be held. The first one will be on the first Monday of the course and the second one will be on the last Friday of the course. The date of the second Zoom session may be adjusted at the discretion of the instructor with input from the course group. The required Zoom meetings are held from 6-8 PM Eastern Time. There will be an alternative assignment for those who cannot attend with the permission of the instructor.
This course is eligible for 2.0 CEU.
The CLM Downloadable Resource for Module Two will be available within the course.
