This four-week course is designed to familiarize learners with the mission of the Institute for Discipleship and BeADisciple.com. It covers the basics of building, planning, marketing, and teaching online courses using the Blackboard software as well as the policies and procedures of BeADisciple. Learners will come to the course with an idea and leave with a course that is ready or nearly ready to offer. Those participating who only plan to teach pre-built courses should still bring an idea to work on for training purposes.
Before teaching a BeADisciple course, all instructors must successfully complete IFD100. Within 60 days of completion, instructors will finish building content and submit dates for the first session of their course or commit to course dates if they are teaching in one of our pre-built courses or programs.
The time investment required to successfully complete this course is proportional to what you will experience as an instructor, and you will want to consider your current schedule as you decide whether to enroll. If this is a particularly busy time in your life, you may wish to defer participation, but the instructor course is offered several times each year.
In addition to Blackboard interactions, 2 optional Zoom meetings will be held – one in Week Two and one in Week Four. The meetings will not be recorded.
This course is eligible for 2.0 CEU.

Past Learners Said…
“I learned how to develop & submit my course idea, and in addition, I learned how the Blackboard software works & what parts might work best with the course I am working on.”
“I feel that I have a good working knowledge of how to create my own class, using a wide variety of tools and methods. I’m confident that if I’m not sure how to do something, the staff will be available to help me figure it out and that makes it much less scary!”
