Begin by reading Psalm 7 on Biblegateway.com or in your own Bible.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I just need a great warrior on my side.
This particularly happens for me when I feel like I have been falsely charged just as David describes in verse 3 of Psalm 7. “Lord, if I’ve done this then may I be found guilty. But, I feel like I’ve been unfairly and falsely accused. If that is true, Lord, then I cannot rely on my own strength. I take refuge in You. I need You to fight my battle for me this time. I need You to vindicate me against my accusers.”
I seem to feel like this a lot lately. Sometimes, living in faith is hard. Sometimes, my cross is heavy. Sometimes, I say the wrong things and, sometimes, I do the wrong things. Sometimes, I forget I am not called to do it alone. 
I have found that the less I say in my own defense in these situations, the better. We can’t control what others think, and we can’t control what others say. But, we can do our best to live out our lives with integrity. We can trust that God Most High knows the heart, and He is our shield. God is the righteous judge. It really does not matter if I am right or not. It really does not matter if I am righteous or not. It matters only that the Great Warrior is righteous and that He fights for me.
So, I will get up each day, and I will put the belt of truth around my waist and the breastplate of righteousness on my shoulder. I will fit my feet with readiness and take up the shield of faith. I will put on the helmet of salvation and pick up the sword of the Spirit.
And then . . . I’m going to hide behind the Great Warrior. Because whether He comes in vindication as soldier with a flaming arrow or whether He comes as a shepherd boy with five stones and a sling, He is still a greater warrior than I.
“I will give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness; I will sing the praise of the name of the Lord Most High.” Amen.
